Give a child an Education in Africa
Why we need your help
Transforing young lives through education and coservational awareness in sub-Saharan Africa.
Limpopo has the highest level of poverty of any South African province, with 78.9% of the population living below the national poverty line. This province attracts many tourists for its beautiful nature but local investment for services and education is limited. Most schools do not have the basic resources to provide education.
Most nursery or edu-care facilities in rural Limpopo Province don't have access to the most basic resources and facilities that children need to assist in their early childhood development. This can have a profound negative impact on their ability to keep pace with formal education provided once they enter primary school. We hope to have a lifelong impact in each childs life.
Partnered with a local school and creche we will work with them to make improvements on the initial need for improving the infrastrucuture and resources. This has already had an immediate and critical impact locally on the lives of the children that attend this school or creche. We will continue to empower and train local community members as teachers and run regular conservational awareness workshops at the local school as well as bring the children onto a local reserve to learn about the conservations work happening in theior local community.
Long Term Impact
This project will empower the staff of these educational institutes to gain & sustain access to government support and funding. This allows families to send kids to school without worrying about covering fees. In the process, it will also provide language skills for the children that will give them an advantage for better further education. Funds raised will provide children & staff with a safe, hygienic, positive environment, where they can grow, develop, learn and have fun and hopefully inspire local children to take an active role in the conservation in their community.
