Help Feed Hungry Children in Zimbabwe
Why we need your help
Help Feed Hungry Children and Provide them with an Education in Zimbabwe
Despite a change of leadership, nothing has changed for the ordinary citizen of Zimbabwe. Prices keep escalating and unemployment is around 99%. This project aims to assist the 250 day scholars at the Marula Primary School with a daily nutritious lunch, essential stationary, exercise and text books.
For years, Zimbabwe has been devastated by political instability, economic crises, drought, high unemployment and the spread of HIV. Our province, lying far away from the political hub of the country, has been particularly hard hit. At Marula Primary School, we presently have 250 day scholars, who rely on the lunch we give them as their only meal of the day. Despite their grim situation, they are hopeful, and for them the education of their children is almost as important as their sustenance.
The project, overseen by The Stone Hills Wildlife Sanctuary for the past 12 years, supports the Marula Primary School. All 250 day scholars receive a lunch, this is most of the time, the only meal they receive in a day. We are wanting to provide as many day scholars as possible with essential stationary and textbooks as well as much needed addictions to some of the school structures.
Long Term Impact
Our objectives are simple: to continue to assist the local community in every way we can - particularly with the feeding of primary school children, and their education. This will help them concentrate and focus on their studies while they are at school and will also provide them with some of the nutrients that they are lacking.
