Marine Protection in Thailand
Why we need your help
Protecting the Marine Environment in Thailand
This project works with a number of local partnerships to help develop and protect our Marine Environment. We fund resources and support for our local partners to focus on creating awareness and outreach campaigns to engage the local community and education them on the issues that surround them in the ocean.
Challenges to the local coastal ecosystems are vast, and as with all ecosystems, a delicate balance is essential. With lack of education and awareness locally there is a limited amount of resources to tackle these issues. Through dedicated local partnerships we aim to raise awareness in the local schools on the importance of protecting our marine life. In the turtle centers, we give them a head start for survival in the ocean.
Working to support our dedicated partners we can educate the locals about marine and coastal conservation. Collaborating with local marine organisations, helps increase our scope and reach on projects that aim to design and implement codes of conduct for ethical tourism practices. Surveying the coastal wildlife population helps us assess the health of the ecosystems and offer data and findings to National Park authorities.
Long term Impact
By educating locals, we are motivating and inspiring involvement with marine conservation activities. If we can show through data, how our projects benefit marine species, we can spread this idea to other centers along with the tools to implement their own projects which help prepare turtles for life in the ocean. By conducting wildlife surveys, local understanding of the importance and balance of the ecosystems is increased and we can promote ethical and sustainable tourism.
