Ngassa Village

Ngassa Village

Why we need your help

Ngassa Village is located in the far north region of Cameroon. The village is comprised of approximately 2300 people, with about 430 children under 5 years of age. The area is mostly a low-lying region where vegetation is mostly shrubs with little access to clean water. Three rivers pass through the village, but are dry during the dry season, and do not have clean water during the rainy months. The rainy season lasts 4 months from June to September, while the dry season lasts for 8 months from October to May. While there is one public health center, there is very limited personnel and a lack of resources. Most commonly, malaria, respiratory infections, intestinal parasites, infections, and malnutrition affect the population.
