Bulesa Dima is a village near the town of Isiolo. The people in Bulesa Dima saw transformation happening in the neighboring village of Gambella and, like many other surrounding villages, asked for our help. We said “yes” to the leaders of Bulesa Dima at the beginning of 2011.
Bulesa Dima is a village of about 1,000 Borana people, mostly doing subsistence farming and stock herding. With the ever-growing drought in this part of Africa, these practices have become increasingly difficult and has brought the village into a state of severe poverty. Income plummeted, and children were pulled out of school because their families simply could not afford the fees.
