Togo - Naki Oest

Togo - Naki Oest

Why we need your help

Naki-Ouest is a cluster made up of 15 villages in Togo, Africa, and it’s people are of the Moba tribe.  The villages have a scarcity of clean water, their source is from a dry stream where villagers dig the ground and wait for water to spring up.  Most of the people are farmers, however the soil is not suitable for farming and there is insufficient food for the community.  Housewives generate meager income from sale of mangoes, tomatoes, peppers and onions.  Others travel to distant places to work for large farm owners.  A few families have cows and goats, but are not educated in cattle rearing. There are numerous instances of sickness in these villages where malaria, diarrhea and worm infestation are common.  The government owned school is ill equipped and lacks staff making it difficult to educate the children.
