AEGIS London Charity Partner
Why we need your help
AEGIS London announces new charity partnership with The Cure Parkinson's Trust (CPT)!
We have chosen to support CPT after a member of staff at AEGIS, Simon Cooper, was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2017. With the support of AEGIS he is keen to shine a spotlight on the condition and to raise funds to help find a cure.
To launch the partnership we are sponsoring the AEGIS Coast to Coast to Cure Challenge, which involves a team of 13 cycling from the Atlantic Coast to the Mediterranean in just 100 hours. All funds raised will support The Cure Parkinson's Trust and the team is joined by CPT Patron Mike Tindall MBE and fellow Rugby World Cup winner Iain Balshaw MBE.
Employees at AEGIS will also take on individual fundraising challenges over the next year, and the Charity Committee has plans to organise a bigger fundraising event for 2020.
CPT is the only charity in the UK solely dedicated to curing Parkinson's, and all funds raised through this partnership will help support their ground-breaking research into treatments that can slow, stop or reverse the disease.
John Chambers from our Charity Committee said: “Given the fact that one of our members of staff has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, CPT was the perfect choice for us as a charity partner. Their aim to find a cure for Parkinson’s sends a message of hope to all who have this condition and the team at AEGIS are delighted to be helping them in their quest."
