St Nicholas Wells Restoration Appeal
Why we need your help
St. Nicholas Church, Wells-next-the-Sea, is an iconic building which is very important to local people and visitors alike. Following the five yearly inspection report, and subsequent high level surveys, it was found that serious defects to the structure of the church required urgent remedial work to the tower, roof, buttresses, windows and facework. The church building was put on the National Heritage At Risk Register in 2018 and we are now working hard to raise over £300,000 by way of grants and fundraising. It is hoped we will be able to raise £50,000 from a local fund raising campaign, so do please help us save this wonderful building for future generations.
In March 2020 we were successful in our grant application, for a Development Phase 1 grant, of £39,200 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
