This October, five of the Virgin Media Property & Facilities team are taking on the epic Three Peaks Challenge in aid of our strategic charity partner, Scope.

The entire P&F team are rallying to raise as much as possible to support Scope to tackle the barriers disabled people face getting in to and staying in work. Find out more about Scope here

Thanks for supporting the team and Scope!

SALVATORE PAOLI

When this opportunity arose to participate in this physically demanding challenge, I didn’t stop to think twice.

Having done my fair share of sponsored events from doing runs, growing the Moo-tashe, bike rides and even shaving my crop of hair, I felt that this was the next big step… very big step.

Some people participate in events and others donate. It doesn’t matter which group you fall into, everyone should do their bit.

This isn’t going to be ‘a walk in the park’, this will be the toughest, most physical and mental activity that I will have encountered.

I will be armed with my trusty walking stick and more importantly, my fellow Team members! Together we will be able to accomplish this mammoth challenge for this worthy cause.

TOM HAMMERSLEY

“I was asked to do it in my first week of employment at Virgin Media so couldn’t say no….. I’ve actually wanted to do the three peaks for years but have never had the time to organise it and couldn’t find enough similar minded people with a lust for the challenge who are prepared to put themselves through the pain and discomfort, until I came to Virgin Media. It’s a fab reason to get in shape and it’s great to see people coming together to raise money for a fantastic cause, even people that aren’t involved in the event are pulling together to raise money for this tremendous charity. Can’t wait”

LIAM PORTER

“Really I had no choice but to climb the 3 Peaks with my fellow colleagues as part of the Virgin Media FM and Property 5 after the date was moved to accommodate my annual leave. :) But in all seriousness, I jumped at the opportunity to raise money for a great charity like Scope. It is going to be hard especially operating on little sleep. Though I have never personally needed the support of Scope it has made me reflect and realise how fortunate I have been in life. Through doing this challenge I can help a little in ensuring children get the best possible start.”

LOREDANA LEONTE

“Three Peaks Challenge has been on my Bucket List for years so I literally jumped out my seat when the opportunity arose. I am not looking forward to breaking my nails, ruining my hair and getting soaking wet but fortunately I can function with 3-4 hours of sleep a night and I train regularly so coping with sleep deprivation and physical exhaustion won’t be a problem. But in all seriousness, I am really up for the challenge for the 3 Peaks and I am hoping to raise lots of money for a great cause which I know is close to a lot of people hearts within Virgin Media.  I am going to give it my all both in the challenge and in the fundraising.”

JOE DICKINSON

"The reason behind me taking on the challenge is driven purely by the personal circumstances of my family. My wife and myself have direct experience of cerebral palsy in our children, and as such, Scope is a charity close to our hearts.

The opportunity to support this exceptional cause, through such an exciting and physically demanding challenge as part of a quality team is one that I just couldn’t refuse. Ask me if I have the same levels of positivity after the event…."
