Why we need your help
In Zambia 45% of children are stunted due to poor nutrition. Our partners in Monze told us most children do not have breakfast and they walk a long way to school.
Climate change is making the one precious rainy season a year shorter or unpredictable leading to poor harvests and hunger.
We work with ReSCOPE, an organisation which specialises in promoting school gardens, to provide a susatinable solution. We have established 9 school gardens in Monze District, to feed school children.
School children, teachers and farmers are taught to grow a variety of nutritious crops, including indigenous drought resistant crops. They learn water harvesting and make organic fertiliser.
We plan establish more school gardens. We are fund raising to buy tropical fruit trees and pay for training at school gardens and community farms.
