Naluyanda School

In May 2020 15 staff from the BGL Group in Peterborough will travel to Naluyanda School in Zambia to spend a week working on completion of the school they have funded and built by Build It International.

The school was set us as a mission school with one classroom and three small offices used for 311 children, between Pre-school and Grade 6. However the school is struggling to cope with the growing number of children.

The children are taught in shifts in cramped and unsuitable conditions with few desks.

The school lacks toilets - there are two toilet blocks but only one is functional, the other is completely dilapidated.

The school has access to water from a borehole, but the pipes need replacing.

The school has two trained Government teachers and two volunteer teachers supported by the PTA.

With BGL's support Build It International will:

Build a standard three-classroom block with office and strong room.

Build a new toilet block with hand washing facility.

Renovate or replace the borehole and hand-pump for clean water.

Train 20 local young people in building skills during the construction phase.

Please help them reach their target!
