Why we need your help
Buy a Brick to help us fund the future
Our hall in South Trinity Road, Edinburgh was opened in 1957 by Lord Baden-Powell, the son of the founder of the scout movement.
Since then, the hall and its grounds have provided a base and focal point from which many generations of the scouting family have been able to safely enjoy the opportunities and experiences being a member of the Scout movement can offer.
The hall and grounds have also been used by Scout groups visiting Edinburgh from elsewhere in the UK, and overseas, and the facilities are also extensively used by a wide range of local community groups, thus contributing to the general well being of the local community.
Given the age of the building, it is now necessary to undertake a major refurbishment project to support scouting in the 21st century with the aim to make the property more accessible to a wider range of users. To achieve this vision will cost in the region of £250,000 and plans for this exciting development have already been approved and include:-
1) upgrading of toilets and addition of an accessible toilet and shower facility;
2) a new storage area for camping and other equipment;
3) renewal of the roof and improved insulation;
4) exterior ground works to provide a storage facility for large adventure equipment (e.g. Kayaks)
The Scout Group has already been able to raise some of the funding needed to pay for this project, but much still needs to be done.
One of the ways in which you can support us is by Buying a Brick. The names and Brick Category of each donor will be recorded on a Roll of Donors which will be displayed for posterity in the premises to allow future generations of scouts (and other hall users) to appreciate the help given by donors to fund the future.
Brick Category Donation amount

Please note that all Bricks purchased in this appeal are virtual and no actual Bricks will be dispatched. Additionally, as this is a collective and supportive effort from all involved, no bricks will be individually assigned to any specific donor and no one will own an actual brick!
