At Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust we believe that every person, regardless of their background should have the opportunity and support to flourish in a society that treats them with fairness and respect.

That’s why we are working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to inspire and enable them to succeed in the career of their choice.  Our support ranges from giving 13-year olds their first taste of what different careers might involve, to awarding bursaries to help young people who might otherwise struggle to stay in education, to running training that helps people in their early 20s to build the skills they need to get a job.  And projects like our Active Citizens programme work with local communities, companies and others to create a fairer society in which everyone can thrive.

This year is the 25th anniversary of Stephen’s death and the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Trust.  We think that Stephen would be proud of the difference that we are making in his name.  And we want your help to do more.

We need funding to secure the future of our successful Building Futures programme which supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and under-represented groups to study and qualify as architects (the career Stephen had hoped to follow).   We need funding to provide mentoring to more young people through our Schools programme.  And we need it to sustain our work providing careers advice, industry seminars and employability training to young people at risk of long-term unemployment and social exclusion.

Your donation won’t just help us make a difference to young people now, it will help us make a difference to the rest of their lives.

Thank you so much for your support – it’s great to have you on Stephen's Team!

I’ve just finished reading “And Still I Rise”. It took me 5 days to read. I am so thankful to Doreen Lawrence, her family and friends.
