Why is Louise swimming 80 km in 80 days?

Citizens Advice is 80 this year!

Here at Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice we constantly consider ways of improving our service to the community.

Through a variety of outreach pilots, we have learnt that many only sought our services because we were delivering it from that particular outreach and would have not otherwise approached us.

Because of this we will soon modernise part of our service by mainly providing confidential information and advice from various outreaches including a library and Foodbank.

We know that in order to maximise the effect of the service we provide we must empower our clients to take control of their issues.

To do this we would like to purchase Tablets and make the sessions with clients more interactive by advising the client and getting them to use the Tablet to immediately take the actions required.

How is Louise doing?

Day 30

31 Km swum to date

Still managing to build up a bit extra. It was hard going the last couple of days - had a full weekend with family visiting and then I was distracted by the gardening....

Day 24

24.5 Km swum to date

I am building up a bit extra over the next few weeks as I won't have access to pool for a week in August. I getting used to the routine now, but the first 100m are always the hardest to get going, then it's a case of remembering the number of lengths to make sure I cover the distance!

Day 19

19.2 Km swum to date

I have managed to catch up - hoorah! What brilliant weather and to be able to dive into the pool to cool off has been great.

Day 15

14.8 Km swum to date

What a scorcher of a weekend! A bit behind due to being at a friends wedding on Saturday - so a bit of catch up needed....

Day 11

11.4 Km swum to date

I think I chose the right sponsorship activity - phew it has been hot but I have been looking forward to my swim to cool off each day!

Day 7

7.2 Km swum to date

That was a tough one - I play with Horsham Brass Band and we had a concert on the bandstand in Horsham Park yesterday afternoon, by the time we got back I felt like a glass of wine rather than a swim, but of course the swim came first....

 Day 6

6.2 Km swum to date

Well almost a week of swimming! It started off really well then today I woke with a stiff shoulder! Thank goodness for 'Deep Heat' and a massge ball.... By the evening it had loosened up again and I took it easy doing some of the lengths with one arm!!

Day 1

1 Km swum to date

I am really pleased to be able to put my swimming skills towards raising funds for these tablets that will give our clients a chance to progress their issues themselves.

As you can see I am taking a moment pre-swim before launching into that first kilometre!

Your donations, no matter how big or small, are greatly appreciated!
