Corbets Tey School Soft Play Appeal
Why we need your help
This appeal is to reach our fundraising target to complete a two storey extension building to provide a soft play area therapy rooms and engaging learning spaces for children with complex learning disabilities. Building work is going very well so far and internal works foundations and steel structures are almost complete.
We are so grateful to all of our sponsors and donations received so far. The school has received considerable support by Jim Taylor (MixIt Concrete Services Ltd) who has committed to the construction of the building for free. Grants from charitable trusts have funded the mechanical and engineering works, fixtures and fittings and soft play equipment. We continue to fundraise to cover the last £50,000 of the project.
Since 2004, the school has used a very old modular building as a soft play area, which has proved to be an indispensable resource for the whole school and is well loved by the children. This old building has now reached the end of its life, and we aim to replace this with a new, robust and more permanent structure.
Corbets Tey School is a special school for children with complex learning disabilities with social and physical disabilities situated in Upminster, Essex.
This new facility will give these children a dedicated space that is designed with their needs in mind. This will make a real and significant difference to their physical and social development, their happiness and self confidence in experimenting, exploring and trying out new activities.
