COVID Health Centre in Gujarat India

Why we need your help

?? Urgent Donation Appeal: Emergency COVID Treatment Centre in South Gujarat ??
As the pandemic continues to rage on in India, there lies a desperate need for medical assistance in various rural and hard to reach areas of Gujarat. A new special COVID Health Centre has been set up in Valsad District, South Gujarat in just 10 days to serve over hundreds of rural districts who have no other access to COVID care facilities.
The Health Centre opened on 25th April 2021, with 50 beds and all facilities including ventilators, BiPap machines, high flow oxygen support, a CT scan machine and an ICU ward to support severe cases of COVID immediately.
Plans are already underway to expand capacity to 100 beds due to the overwhelming need. This will also include adding a ‘COVID Suspect Ward’ where extensive testing will be performed to provide early intervention and restrict further spread of the virus.
All treatment will be provided FREE of cost to those in need.
We urgently need funds to cover patient treatment and care costs, which we expect will run up to £4,000 per day. Please give generously and share extensively at this critical time when your donations will save lives.
This is our opportunity to alleviate some pain and suffering by helping India in her hour of need.

Outreach

31 May - Addressing the situation of rural India at its root

In addition to the two COVID Centres in South Gujarat which can host 200-beds of critical & non-critical patients, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care has strategised an extensive outreach programme, aimed at spreading awareness about testing, treatment options and vaccinations to address the root of rural India's COVID-19 situation.

The outreach programme represents a large-scale, sustainable model that can truly bring about social and behavioural change. It is a unique public-private model that is scalable and replicable, and maximises treatment outcomes for rural populations.

Click here to watch a video to see key highlights of this programme.

Through the support of all our donors, both the COVID Centres and their outreach initiatives have been instrumental in reducing the spread of this virus and have successfully brought down infection rates through this rural population. We thank everyone who has generously donated to make this positive difference to one of the worst affected areas in India.

11-May - New 150-Bed Facility Inaugurated

SRHCC 2

The new 150-Bed Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital COVID Care Centre was inaugurated on 11th May 2021 to continue helping the local rural community! The new facility has numerous wards which will be used to provide free treatment to patients experiencing mild to moderate symptoms. Being in a tribal region of South Gujarat away from the urban cities of India, the high quality care being provided here will set this Care Centre apart. Doors are now open to all those in need.

The new facility was virtually inaugurated in the presence of Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai by Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat along with various other dignitaries. Click here to watch glimpses of the newly opened Centre.

5 May - Major Project Expansion (additional 150-Bed Facility) and Fundraising Target Increase

As COVID cases in rural India continue to touch new peaks, the recently opened critical COVID Health Centre has operated at full capacity since opening just 10 days ago. With 50 beds for the most critical patients fully utilised, the outpatient ward has treated 2,000+ patients till date and carried out 1,500+ CT scans to provide immediate and effective impact in the fight against COVID in this region. Please click here for a short video.

Due to the unprecedented demand, and encouraged by the overwhelming generosity of donors worldwide, Shrimad Rajchandra Love & Care will now expand the scope of its COVID relief activities by opening a further 150-bed Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital COVID Care Centre facility in the nearby area to aid less critical cases that still require comprehensive care (oxygen support, CT scans, blood/PCR tests, etc.). Our volunteers are working tirelessly around the clock so this new 150-bed SR Hospital COVID Care Centre will be up and running as early as next week!

With this in mind, we are increasing our fundraising target to an ambitious £500,000 and invite all to contribute generously and share extensively. Donations made will make a direct impact on the ground to those most in need, in the battle against COVID. Funds raised will continue to help cover costs of the COVID Health Centre in addition to set-up, essential medical equipment and treatment costs at the new 150-bed SR Hospital COVID Care Centre along with rehabilitation projects to support families whose livelihoods have been affected due to COVID. All treatment at both centres remain free for those in need.

Whilst we may not be able to save every life from COVID, together we can certainly endeavour to alleviate some of the pain and suffering of families affected by this devastating crisis. We sincerely applaud the kindness of all donors both large and small.
