Why we need your help

Harowayo, also known as Abunu, is a village of 970 families, located in Eastern Ethiopia.  There is no source of clean drinking water in this village and not enough water for farming irrigation.  Most of the families are herders of goats, sheep, camels or cows but few are growing vegetables to provide a nutritious diet.  This village suffers from a serious shortage of food. There are no latrines in the homes of this village causing health and wellness issues such as water borne disease.  School attendance is low as most children are helping with the herds.  Because the men and children are tending to the herds, most of the daily work, along with additional income generation falls on the women’s shoulders.
