Coronavirus - Supporting older people
Why we need your help
Please help us to support older people in Coventry and Warwickshire during the coronavirus pandemic. We're working hard to ensure our vital services continue in these deeply worrying times. We're determined to be there for older people who need our help and especially those who have no one else to turn to, but need your support.
Why we need your help
We continue to provide the people of Coventry and Warwickshire with information, support and assistance services in these worrying times.
Some are provided in partnership with local government, NHS Trusts and Commissioning Groups. Other vitally important services are funded by ourselves primarily from income raised through our 16 charity shops and provided free of charge. All shops were initially closed due to the pandemic and although some have re-opened, this has placed a considerable strain on our finances.
These services include;
Information and Advice including essential guidance on coronavirus, local support services, benefits and entitlements, accessing social care etc.
Loneliness and isolation is a major issue at all times and even more so for over 70s at present. Our Befriending Service is providing regular, friendly, phone contact to those living in isolation.
Counselling Service continues to assist people cope with emotional issues including bereavement and other life changing events, stress and anxiety which, of course, can be made worse by the present situation.
This is why we are asking for your help by making a donation, however large or small.
