Elderly & Isolated in Kent
Why we need your help
Help Elderly & Isolated in Kent & Medway
Local projects that address the challenges faced by elderly adults and support people to stay well, healthy and independent and, most importantly, combat social isolation. There are considerable challenges associated with an ageing population including loneliness, isolation and illness. Our Elderly and Isolated theme supports projects that give elderly adults the opportunity to have regular social interaction, such as social activities, ‘men’s shed’ projects or lunch clubs. It provides practical support to older people living alone, such as one-to-one befriending schemes or transport services enabling them to get out and about. We fund inter-generational activities; enable older people to use their skills and experience to make a contribution to their communities; and offer activities that encourage participation in sport and physical activity or opportunities to participate in arts and culture such as choirs or museums.
Giving through our themed programmes
Our themed programmes are designed for anyone wishing to donate to local organisations through Kent Community Foundation.
Whether you are donating £100 or £100,000 this approach to local charitable giving allows you to decide which local beneficiary group you would like to benefit from your donation or, if you’re not sure, your donation can be spread across all four themes. Please see a description of each theme below. Once you have made your decision you can leave the rest to us.
Having distributed over £30m in grants in the past 17 years you can be confident that your donation will go to where it is needed the most in Kent and Medway.
Our themed programmes are open all year round and are open to any individual to donate as much or as little to the following causes:
Children, Young People and Families
Elderly and Isolated
Employability, Skills and Enterprise
Vulnerable Adults
