The Manjit Wolstenholme Fund
Why we need your help
About the Fund
The Manjit Wolstenholme Fund supports children and young people in disadvantaged areas of Bradford District to achieve their potential through educational and aspirational opportunities. Manjit’s own experiences meant she believed passionately that no-one should be denied the chance to achieve their true potential as a result of their background or where they live.
The challenge
With over 41,000 children living in poverty in Bradford, it’s no surprise that children and young people are facing huge hurdles which severely impact their social mobility and life chances.
Bradford is the youngest city in the UK with a diverse, rich pool of talent to be harnessed. Although the city is making great strides, there are still barriers preventing children and young people from accessing education, support and opportunities, whilst tackling low levels of aspiration.
Many people in the city are doing great things to make this happen. The Manjit Wolstenholme Fund has been set up by Provident Financial Group to honour their greatly esteemed colleague, aiming to enable not-for-profit organisations to continue delivering their crucial services.
