Metro Blind Sport - Prudential Ride 2017
Why we need your help
Metro Blind Sport is a small but very well established and active charity opening up sport to people of all ages and sporting abilities, living with sight loss within Greater London.
As recently as the beginning of this year we introduced our members to tandem cycling and a few of our regular members have been inspired to take part in the Prudential Ride London 2017. One of those riders Odette Battarel would like to share her motivations for taking part.
"To take part in an event with my husband who is sighted, to do a challenge together
To feel the breeze, the speed of riding a tandem To ride a tandem through London traffic free in the clean air, We are always walking so carefully not to bump into things it is great to feel we can go fast again!
To be part of a big London event, to be included in riding in front of a supportive and enthusiastic crowd ! to be cheered!
To raise money for a charity that does fabulous work enabling blind and partially sighted people to take part in sport and physical activities, to stay fit to enjoy new experiences and to enjoy competitions.
I have experienced first hand the benefits of sports, of staying fit, of meeting like minded people and I want to ensure Metro can continue to do this of others
To inspire and to show others that it is possible, that if you are blind or partially sighted you can still be active and take part in great events"
So please support Odette and our other members taking part including Linda Gaitskell, Alex pepper, Kathy Smith, Roy Smith, Joanne Turnbull and Alan Turnbull in their fearless efforts for METRO Blind Sport.
