Nia 2.6 Challenge

Why we need your help

UPDATE 1st June

We have hit our fundraising target, amazing! Thank you to you all..

We have now delivered over 600 food packages to families across the Mathare slums.. thank you all for your support.

We would like to continue this into June whilst schools are still closed. Please continue to support us!

Dear Supporters

Nia Children’s Foundation supports two schools in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya with food supplies, allowing the children to have a daily breakfast and lunch. Due to Covid-19 these two schools have had to close, and all 765 kids have been at home for over a month now. The lockdown has resulted in a lack of work, resulting in families struggling with the basics.

Our team on the ground are working with our suppliers to put together food packages of rice and beans and get them to these children’s households. We really want to push out more of these food packages over the coming weeks and need your support.

One food package consists of 5kg rice and 5kg beans and will feed a family for an entire week... it costs just £10.

I am asking our supporters to join in or support and donate to my Virgin Money Giving 2.6 Challenge to try and raise £2,600. I’m walking 2.6miles a day for 10 days and would love our supporters to join me. The aim is to try and get 26 people to join in and get us all walking together. 2.6miles is doable and we all need an hour out of the house right now!

The #TwoPointSixChallenge is a way of bringing the nation together to support UK charities by inviting supporters to be creative around the number 2.6 and 26, to raise much needed funds.
