from a target of £200,000.00

Total raised (+ Gift Aid)

As work colleagues of John Frade, we decided to reach out to people inside and outside of the finance community to support John’s family following the recent terrible attack in Westminster. We wanted to show that there are many wonderful people who are thinking of them and who are willing to do something for them.

To that end, Mauro, one of John’s work colleagues ran the London Marathon in memory of Aysha and to raise money for John Frade and his family. He completed the 26.2miles in 4hrs 16min, which was a tremendous effort. The support on the day, from being interviewed on the BBC to the countless shouts of encouragement from spectators, justified our choice of using the London Marathon as a positive platform to counter the terrible event in Westminster.
The donations and messages of support that has been given to John’s family since we launched this fundraising campaign have been absolutely tremendous. Close to 2,000 people from all over the globe have left a donation on this page, and many hundreds more have taken part in other initiatives that have culminated in the total amount raised. We trust these heartfelt comments and generous deeds will offer some comfort to John’s family.

With the marathon completed, we are more than 70% towards the target and plan some new initiatives to get to the fundraising objective. We hope that you also can be part of this effort to show that there are people who will stand by John’s family in these difficult times for them.
We appreciate any contribution, however small or big, to helping out John’s family’s future. A big and deep THANK YOU in advance. Please note that we have chosen Virgin Money Giving to collect the money. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit business and will take no fees so more money will go to the Frade family.
