The Bethesda Project

Why we need your help

Last year, the essential but ancient Bethesda 4x4 vehicle, which was used to reach the outlying communities around Muyinga, had to be scrapped as it had become a danger to drive. We are now launching an appeal to provide a pre-owned replacement, the cost of which will be at least £20,000.  54 miles is the round-trip distance from Muyinga, where Bethesda is based, to the  village of Murama where outreach workers provide support and healthcare to the community, many of whom are children, teenagers and young adults.

Will you help us?

Will you help with this vital work and ‘Walk4Wheels’?

Please commit to walk 54 miles between now and 30th April and ask family, friends and to sponsor you.  You might attempt the whole distance in a weekend or in stages - it’s up to you - the challenge is a personal one.

You can create your own fundraising page by clicking on the start fundraising Button on the top right.  Here is an example you may wish to copy.  Alternatively, you can copy this link and send it to your contacts to make donations directly.

Bethesda is a joint project between the Diocese of Muyinga, Burundi and the Kepplewray Trust, Cumbria, UK.  Kepplewray is a UK registered charity (1015762)

Please note that should donations total more than the cost of the vehicle, any surplus will be used to fund the ongoing work of Bethesda in Burundi
