I am pleased to say that I was successful in my attempt to complete the Downs link

We started at Guildford about 8:30 and made good progress going to Bramley. Cranlegh baynards and rugwick
Being met on the way by a fantastic support team travelling in the car and getting is close to the railway stations as possible
Sinfold Christ hospital and Southwater where we stopped for lunch
And then the rain started in spite of the rain two explorers joined us for the rest of the journey which help with the motivation one with the weather and two with the sword bottoms that you get when cycling such a long distance ir was grting tough
West Grinstead Partridge Green Henfield

From Henfield Bramber to Shoreham was the toughest part of the day cold wet saw and then of course from Bramber to Shoreham it's very flat no Downhills
I need to thank Giants for the loan of the bike and the Mechanic Dave without  the bike I would not have been able to achieve this
The support from Chris
The motivation from Robert and Barnaby For turning up at the halfway pointand joining in instires of the rain
Ian Allan and Sharon and Sandra for this support meeting us at all the stations in the car
A long day  but I wouldn't have done it without them
thankyou all

Hi , I am  Colin Strong, a scout leader at 3rd Shoreham sea scouts,  I have Hereditary Motor and sensory Neurpathy which makes my balance poor when standing and walking , causing chronic fatigue , mobibility difficult and dexterity problems , in the last few years my feet have got very painful and my hands have got weaker ,

While I can ,I have walked up Snowdon, and now going to cycle 37 miles of the downs link West Sussex ,starting at Guildford going back to Shoreham by Sea .

WHEELCHAIR  ACCESS PROJECT

Being a scout leader, it is so nice seeing the Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Explorers having so much fun in learning life skills, but if or when any of these young people ever end up having to use a wheelchair they would find it very difficult getting access to the upstairs of the scout building without a lift, or even using the toilets and showers  without the doorways  being wide enough for a wheelchair to fit through ,
