Help us bring comfort and joy

The pandemic has shown us just how important it is to have access to tranquil green spaces in the city; many people are finding comfort in beautiful places.

 Arnos Vale receives no council or government funding*. We rely on the generosity of the public and the income from our private and public events to keep this historic gem open for the community.

Covid-19 has meant that our events have been cancelled. With our income hit hard, most of our small team were furloughed and our volunteers remained at home. This has had a significant effect on our operations.

Now you can help as we slowly re-open and rebuild. All donations will make a difference, no matter their size. Please support the Arnos Vale Christmas Appeal and we will put your money directly back into maintaining the 45 acre cemetery site and the numerous listed buildings and monuments for the enjoyment of Bristol and the wider community.

*Arnos Vale Cemetery is a charity and is run by a charitable Trust called Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust (AVCT). It is not run by the council and it does not receive any funding from local or central authorities. Day to day, we rely on a small team and dedicated volunteers to maintain the space for Bristol and the wider community.

Virtual fundraiser ideas:

• It's Christmas jumper day on Friday, December 11th. Add some tinsel to your jumper and invite friends and colleagues to do the same for a small donation to your fundraiser page. 
• Bring family and friends together for a Christmas movie night, using a virtual platform (like Netflix party) in exchange for a donation to your fundraiser page. Add hot chocolate, popcorn and mince pies for a truly comforting treat.
• How about a Christmas quiz? A classic fundraiser which, this year, can be held over Zoom or Skype with family, friends, colleagues or Uni friends. Bonus points for the most creatively dressed.
