Why we need your help

Locomotive No. 1798 was originally ordered to help the war effort, but was subsequently sold to the Imperial Smelting Works at Avonmouth, where it spent its entire working life before finally retiring in 1972 and becoming an integral part of the Avon Valley Railway. All funds donated will be used for the overhaul, restoration and maintenance of this member of our fleet.
