Exciting work has started in Baildon!

Phase 1 of our 3 phase building project has started in Baildon!

We have raised over £700,000 since 2010 and we have already completed over £175k of improvements to the @Wesleys buildings since then. We need at least a further £200,000 of funding to fully complete our 'Phase 1' ambitions for the Baildon community by June 2019, without resorting to loans to bridge gaps.

Help us raise these remaining funds by donating to our BIG Fund via this 'Buy a Brick' campaign website! Please leave us a message to spur us on - and even better, if you have memories of the Marley Hut, please share them with everyone!

More about Phase 1:

Phase 1 of our investment in the Baildon community will see the current "Marley Hut" building, a single story 1950’s temporary structure that is no longer fit for purpose, replaced with a two story structure, built to Passivhaus standards.

This new building, to be called "The Fold", will:

- Provide Baildon Village Pre-School with a larger, more modern, purpose built facility ("The Lower Fold"), complete with the latest teaching resources and enabling them to double the number of sessions offered to Baildon families and enabling children related services to be extended into weekends and school holidays.

- Create a new second floor ("The Upper Fold") for community use, enabling us to serve more organisations, such as Girl Guiding, new Scout groups, table tennis, film clubs and underpin our desire to double the size of our Youth Club.

Many happy memories playing ping-pong in the Marley Hut in the 80's and 90's. It was a wonderful obstacle course for fielding errant balls which was particularly frustrating for the opposition! The slide and see-saw dinosaur were my favourites!

Wishing every success for such a great community centre. My girls had the best of starts on their Pre school journey in the previous building. Long may Baildon Village Pre school continue and here’s to many more new exciting opportunities!

A hopeful building looking to the future - in a place full of teenage memories of church and guides for me. When this time capsule is dug up I hope all buildings are carbon neutral!
