Take A Minute
Why we need your help
Never have donations from our community been more vital to ensure the continuation of our work. When our Take A Minute Appeal was launched last year it was with the hope that we could raise an additional £35,000 to boost our funds. Several months later, with the arrival of this new worldwide challenge, our appeal has taken on a completely new sense of urgency.
1 in 10 young people have a mental health problem.
Roughly three children in every classroom have a diagnosable mental health condition.
80,000 children and young people suffer from depression
1 in 12 young people self-harm
3 in 4 children with a diagnosable mental health condition do not get access to the support they need
A recent study showed that more than 80% of children and young people with a history of mental ill health have found their conditions have worsened since the coronavirus crisis began in the UK.
This will be a very difficult time for many and especially for those children and young people who may already be facing challenging family situations, anxiety or abuse. The effects of being thrown together for prolonged periods in social isolation without the welcome distraction of school routines, regular meals and the companionship of peers will mean that many children will struggle, and their emotional health and wellbeing will suffer.
Even a small donation will go a long way in helping us continue our vital work and every pound donated really will make a BIG DIFFERENCE.
