Why we need your help

The Children’s Foundation is the leading regional healthcare charity covering the North East of England and Cumbria. It is using the occasion of its 25th anniversary to launch a major new appeal to address one of the most serious health issues facing children and young people today: their emotional and mental well-being.

More young people are committing suicide in the North East. Our rates of young people self-harming are double the national average and we have more young people in care than any other region.

Our Aim… is to raise £2million to radically improve mental health outcomes for children and young people in the North East and Cumbria

APPEAL OBJECTIVES:

The Children’s Foundation’s three main objectives are:

  1. To put child and adolescent mental health at the heart of the region’s child health agenda
  2. To make the North East and Cumbria the model of excellence for child mental health and resilience for the rest of the Country
  3. To use its leadership to effect significant change, particularly by introducing and supporting early interventions backed by sound evidence

PLEASE SUPPORT US

Child mental health is a hugely important issue, and (sadly) an urgent one. Children and young people today are facing emotional pressures that were unheard of twenty-five years ago. Please do not stand on the side-lines; emotional and mental health issues affect too many of our children and they need your help.
