Why we need your help

offer a permanent place for Bristol Buddhist Vihara, Join us in this great deed.
Ayubowan and Thank you for visiting our Just giving page
We invite you all to show kindness and compassion by contributing generously to the great
meritorious deed of offering a suitable monastery to the Bristol Buddhist Vihara, which has
served Sri Lankan, Buddhist and wider communities in the South West of England, Wales
and Ireland from a temporary residence for many years. So to able to serve the community adequately, we are planning to purchase a permanent property. Hence the kind request to show kindness and compassion by contributing generously to the tremendous meritorious deed of offering a suitable monastery for broader communities in the South West of England.
Bristol Buddhist vihara was established in 2012 as a Charity. The resident monks teach the Buddhist way, Meditation and language classes, organizing celebrations, cultural events, and counseling to preserve and protect health by a deeper understanding of life using mindfulness, a way of promoting healing and relieving stress. We provide for individuals and families' social and spiritual needs from a large geographic area covering the southwest of England, Wales, and Ireland through incredible perseverance.
After many years of searching, we have now found a perfect place for setting up the Bristol Buddhist Vihara in a permanent site in Bristol's central location with easy access to all communities served. We are making this appeal to meet the shortfall of the mortgage deposit required to purchase the property. Under the present Covid pandemic, we are limited to fundraising opportunities. This noble deed cannot be done without seeking support and donations from the rest of the friends and families of Sri Lankan communities living in the UK and beyond..
Bristol Buddhist Vihara (BBV) for the last eight years, BBV activities were conducted from a residential accommodation facing many challenges when teaching Dhamma, education, social, and community activities due to space limitations and restrictions on services offered from a residential location.
Any donations made will be greatly appreciated and sharing this meritorious deed with a
compassionate mind for the welfare, benefit, and happiness of the whole universe will bring
 countless merits.
The resident monks will transfer merit and blessing to all the donations made every poya
day monthly (i.e. punyanumodanawa). Please submit the details below to
