Cafe Track Hack

Why we need your help

Please sponsor us generously to support our aim of of enabling more autistic adults to be included and valued in the workplace by funding specialist one-to-one mentoring to help autistic people find and maintain paid or voluntary employment. Currently around 70% of autistic people are unemployed - help us to change this!
Since April 2018 Autism Forward has provided annual mentoring grants for over 60 autistic people across the UK to help them find employment.  Over half our grant applicants have already secured paid or voluntary roles and many others have found placements, training opportunities or joined groups and clubs with the support of their mentors.  With your help we can provide support and opportunities for many more autistic job seekers in 2019.

In June 2016 two intrepid teams of cyclists, the Tortoises and Hares, raced from Oxford to Manchester to raise funds for the Lodge Shop in East Finchley which provides work experience for the autistic and other special needs pupils from Oak Lodge school.

Fast forward three years and the Lodge Shop is thriving, recently winning the Barnet Youth Enterprise of the Year award.  For another great cause, the Tortoises and the Hares are climbing back into the saddle at the end of June for a ride from the Lodge Shop to Cafe Track in Northampton. This time they will be challenged by two new teams of cyclists, the Foxes and the Hounds and all will be raising funds for Autism Forward.

Since its launch in April 2018, Autism Forward has provided annual mentoring grants for over 60 autistic job seekers across the UK to enable them to access specialist support to find employment.  Over 65% of their grant holders have already secured paid or voluntary employment and many others have found placements, training opportunities or joined groups and clubs.  Autism Forward works with eleven independent mentoring organisations around the country and their mentor partner in Northampton has recently opened Cafe Track, staffed by autistic employees, which is the destination for this ride.

Please sponsor us generously so that Autism Forward can support more autistic people to find employment and fulfil their potential in life.   Only 16% of autistic people are thought to be in full-time employment - help us to change this!
