Community Water Resilience Fund

Why we need your help

The aim of the Water Resilience Summit was to initiate an open, honest and inclusive conversation about water resilience now and in the future.
We wanted to build a shared understanding of how our local water environments of the South West provide us all with benefits everyday and to discuss what their resilience (or non-resilience) might mean for people, communities, businesses and nature over the next 10-20 years.
Our aim was to provide a forum for the exchange of information and for the provision of emotional and practical inspiration, guidance, support… The event was designed to be a day of action-orientated discussion, learning and planning - an opportunity for people to listen, reflect & question...
For the Summit to be successful, we needed an audience that included concerned citizens, local businesses, environmental professionals and community representatives. All participants were actively encouraged to voice their worries, concerns or questions about the issue of water resilience.

The Community Water Resilience & Adaptation Fund was established to initiate and faciliate an open, honest and inclusive conversation about water resilience now and in the future.

We want to work with local commuinties across the South West of England to build a shared understanding of how our local water environments in the Region provide us all with benefits everyday and to discuss what their resilience (or non-resilience) might mean for people, communities, businesses and nature over the next 10-20 years.

The Fund will be used to create a forum for the exchange of information and for the provision of emotional and practical inspiration, guidance, support…This will become a community of interested people and will take a physical form in the shape of the Community Water Resilience Hub - our newly created geodesic dome.

The Fund will be used to support action-orientated discussion, learning and planning in commuinties across the region - it will create opportunities for people to listen, reflect & question...

For this process to be successful, we need to include as many concerned citizens, local businesses, environmental professionals and community representatives in the discussion as possible.

We want to give everyone a voice and work together to create a shared vision for a reslient future.
