The Cotswold Way 50th Anniversary Appeal

Why we need your help

To conserve this much loved trail for future generations to enjoy

Why the Cotswold Way is a national treasure

The Cotswold Way follows the escarpment from the market town of Chipping Campden to the world-renowned Georgian city of Bath. Its 102 miles have something for every grade of walker, with marvellous views of the surrounding landscape, along with passage through quintessential Cotswold towns and villages, to glimpses of wonderful wildlife.

The challenge we face

The beauty of the trail comes at a cost - looking after the Cotswold Way requires considerable and ongoing resource. Its popularity, attracting some 200,000 walkers a year, causes significant erosion to the trail's surface. This is especially true at pinch-points such as stiles and kissing gates. Making good a single gate area costs around £75 in materials alone - and the Cotswold Way has a couple of hundred or so!

How you can help

Support the 50th Anniversary Campaign which the Cotswold Way Association is jointly running with the Cotswold Conservation Board. Make a donation to help keep the Cotswold Way in excellent condition. Or take part in or organise a sponsorship walk. Click on 'Events' on the CWA's home page for details of upcoming organised walks.

Thank you.
