COVID-19 recovery fund
Why we need your help
What do we want to achieve?
Working in partnership with 45 local schools, Stevenage Community Trust has pledged £100,000 to help improve the mental and physical wellbeing and educational outcomes of children who have been affected by the pandemic.
How will this happen?
We have created a fast-track application process to ensure requests for help are considered quickly and efficiently to ensure schools receive the funding needed to support students without delay.
Grants will be delivered based on need and will not replace statutory funding.
How can you help?
Schools have reported concerns for pupils' wellbeing including a delay to their physical, mental and emotional development after more than a year of disruption. The pandemic has caused a rise in mental health concerns with children displaying signs of anxiety not experienced pre-pandemic. Younger children have missed opportunities to develop their fine motor skills, such as writing, and children of all ages have lacked the social interaction needed to develop important communication skills.
Stories of children returning to school hungry or without appropriate footwear or clothing are heartbreaking as more families struggle to cope following changes to their employment.
With the need so great, we want to try and help every child who has been adversly affected by the pandemic and your donations can help us to achieve this. Together, we can improve the life chances of children in our local community and make a difference to their futures.
