Guy Fox 2020

Why we need your help

Happy 20th Anniversary, Guy Fox!

In 2020, we will mark 20 years of innovative educational work. It's hard to believe how far we've come since we got our first grant, but here we are – still doing what we set out to do.

You can read the story of our foundation here

(And if you're new to Guy Fox, please scroll to the bottom of the page to learn more about our work.)

To celebrate, we are trying to raise £20,000 – not only to mark our anniversary but also to help us fund our vision for our future. We're calling it our '2020 Vision' (sorry for the horrible pun; we're famous for them!).

What is our '2020 Vision'?
Well, we're glad you asked. You see, the key to our longevity is financial sustainability. We've always had to generate our own funding, from the ground up – every single year. So, instead of relying solely on donations or grants, we've had to figure out ways to earn our income. We first published our London Children's Map in 2006. Since then, it has sold over 300,000 copies and generated a steady income stream. That map was followed by others, as well as a few books; plus we've done lots of design work for clients like Tower Bridge Exhibition, the Churchill War Rooms and Arsenal Football Club. These activities have helped us survive the ups and downs of the charity funding rollercoaster.

To stay afloat, we need to keeping developing publications that will generate an ongoing income. So we are asking for your support to help us fund the printing costs for some new book titles.

What that means to you as a donor is: Your one-time donation will help us generate income for many years in the future.

In other words, your donation is an investment, that will keep on giving for years to come.

With your support, we will develop:

1) History Rocks: The Great Fire of 1666
(An illustrated children's book about the Great Fire and how the City was rebuilt afterwards)

2) History Rocks: Magna Carta
(An illustrated children's book about Magna Carta)

If we do reach our target of £20,000 (yippee!), any additional donations will be allocated towards the production of films for our YouTube channel, which helps us earn income through advertising revenue. (If you haven't visited our YouTube channel yet, click here.)

Please help if you can and tell your friends!
If you can make a donation of any amount – and ask your friends to do the same – we would be very grateful.

Many thanks for your support,
The Guy Fox Team

About Our Work
Guy Fox History Project is an educational charity in London, with a simple mission: To create innovative activities and publications that encourage children to explore the world around them.

We deliver educational projects in which children learn about a topic – like our Legal System or the Economy or Asset Management – and then create a book that will teach other children about it. Children learn about the world around them, develop lifelong learning skills and gain buckets full of self-confidence. We have loads of fun, working in partnership with various corporate partners and local primary schools; but our work has a very serious purpose. It empowers children to understand the world as it is and to become good citizens.

Our 'We Are Guy Fox' video on Youtube explains our work best. [Click here]
