Home of Hope Toilet Appeal
Why we need your help
Please help Home of Hope build more toilets and keep providing primary education! This is of great important to Home of Hope, as the Malawian government have informed Home of Hope that their primary school will have to close if they do not build and install more toilets.
The Jane Glaves Primary School currently only has one toilet block which has 12 toilets. These are a mixture of modern toilets and long drops. Due to a change in law, the toilets have been split into Children and Teachers, meaning the children currently only have 6 toilets to serve the entire school of 410 pupils.
The Home of Hope also need toilets and a shower at each Children’s house. There are between 12 and 59 people (up to 10 children per caregiver and up to 5 caregivers in a single house). They use just the one toilet and one shower per house. They would like to have at least 2 extra toilets and 2 showers per house.
The Boys Boarding House has recently had its toilet and shower facilities replaced (pictured) and these new ones will be built to the same high standard.
