House the House 2016
Why we need your help
HOUSE THE HOUSE 2016
The Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation is to re-launch its second national DJ competition. There will be lots of fantastic prizes, whilst also raising funds for Warchild who support children in conflict zones around the world.
The winner will play a life-changing set alongside legendary DJ Carl Cox and the event will be once again held at the Houses of Parliament.
We are really excited to announce Access to Music as our educational partner in 2016 who will be reaching out to young people in the UK and producing many of the heats.
We passionately believe that introducing music as a tool for change to young people can create a positive experience in their lives and those of others around the world.
WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
Your donation raised will help the ongoing work in Jordan, supporting refugee children and their families both in Zaatari Camp refugee camp, close to the Syrian border in northern Jordan and among the host communities of Irbid.
By population, the camp is now the fourth largest city in Jordan and the world's second largest refugee camp. The programme focuses on running a number of Child Friendly Spaces and delivering our specialist DEALS methodology, which uses structured cycles of group based psychosocial support to help children manage the trauma they have experienced and continue their learning.
The funds will contribute towards a range of resources for the children; this includes packs of winter clothing, books for the camp, back-to-school kits and the build of a sustainable child friendly space.
It’s clear to see what a small difference can make to these children’s lives.£10 could buy a child a pack of winter clothing
£7 could buy books
£15 could buy a back-to-school kit (which includes stationary, book, and a bag)
£1,500 could set-up a child friendly space – with an additional £300 a month to run it
