Jack Fleckney Ski-erg World Record
Why we need your help
It may be one of the pieces of gym equipment most feared by Northampton Saints’ rugby players, but one Foundation supporter has challenged himself to 24 hours on a SkiErg machine to raise £5,000.
Jack Fleckney, a former Royal Marine and founder of Wellingborough gym ‘ShireFit’, is taking on the monumental feat starting from 8am on Saturday 6 June and toiling through the day and night to reach a World Record in his age category of 274,850 metres before 8am on Sunday.
The SkiErg machine replicates the double-pole movement used during Nordic skiing, but works the legs just as hard as the arms and shoulders to create a true full-body workout.
“We were absolutely delighted to hear about Jack’s World Record attempt,” said Jordan Letts, Head of Foundation. “This is a mammoth challenge to take on – a really incredible effort of strength and endurance – and we are so grateful to Jack for choosing to raise money for us.
“All our fundraising is impacted by a lack of events at the moment, and any funds Jack raises will be used to help support Saints Foundation’s aims of educating, inspiring and supporting young people within our community.
“All the best, Jack!”
