Gift A Mother & Baby Christmas Box

Gift A Mother & Baby Christmas Box

Why we need your help

Give a special gift this Christmas!
Perinatal mental illness affects 10-15% of new mothers within the first 12 months of birth.

One of the most special experiences in that first year is your baby's first Christmas. Sadly, many new mothers will spend their baby's first Christmas apart from their families and some, away from their babies due to their mental health.

Kingfisher Mother & Baby Unit based at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich provides outstanding care & support for inpatients who have been experiencing mental illness since the birth of their baby. Mothers could be experiencing severe Postnatal Depression, Psychosis and other perinatal mental health conditions which cause them to be away from their families at a time which is so special. Kingfisher MBU offers 8 bedrooms which can facilitate mothers along with their babies, supporting the bond between mother and baby and allowing Mum to keep baby with her throughout her recovery.

This Christmas, with the current pandemic, visitors to the unit will be limited leaving mothers cut off from family and friends at this really important, special time.

Get Me Out The Four Walls wish to help these wonderful Mums by giving them something special to enjoy over the Christmas period. We wish to gift to them a Christmas Box filled with little treats for both Mum & Baby to ensure that their first Christmas together can be memorable.

We are hoping to include:
A Pair of Fluffy Socks for Mum
Toiletries/Beauty products
Chocolate
Festive Story Book for Baby
Festive Cuddly Toy/Rattle for Baby
Adult Colouring Book & Felt Tip Pens for Mum
Christmas Memento

For just £15 per box, you could make a difference to a new Mum & her baby this Christmas!

£15 is the average cost of sending Christmas Cards to family members so please consider an MBU Gift Box as an alternative to this.

In exchange for your donation, we will send you a special E-Card which you can forward to family & friends to share the news of your donation and wish them a very Happy Christmas!

Get Me Out The Four Walls is a maternal mental health charity based in East Anglia which supports parents who may be experiencing mental illness or social isolation to connect with other parents and seek mental health support. Please see our website www.getmeout.org.uk for more information.

We hope to raise enough money to donate 30 boxes to the MBU throughout the month of December.
We hope you are able to help make a difference this year!
