Nepal Covid-19 relief fund
Why we need your help
Nepal is going through a very tough stage of its Covid -19 pandemic with extremely severe problems particularily in the densely populated Kathmandu valley. The health services which have a poor infrastructure have been overwhelmed and the infection rates and death rates are rising very sharply. There is desperate shortage of hospital beds, ventilators, oxygen & PPE, meaning that the population in general are not able to be treated in hospital and the health care workers are in short supply as a huge number of them have become infected. The hospitals and the health authorities are asking for urgent help to alleviate the acute problems in setting up a Nightningale type fieeld hospital in the existing premises of an isolation centre in Samakhushi area near Balaju, providing liquid oxygen which is vital as well as PPE.The aim is to benefit the public without involving the ministry of health. We do not aim to fund any private hospitals either.
NDA UK along with our sister organisations the American Nepal Medical Foundation and the Australasian Nepalese Medical and Dental Association Foundation (ANMDA) are collaborating with the aim of providing liquid oxygen, help in creating a Nightingale type field hospital and providing essential PPE, all of whihch requires a lot of funding.
Any contributions by yourselves would be hugely appreciated and of course will help save so many lives in this very poor third world country.
