The main focus for Nethergreen PTA fundraising at present is to transform the garden area above the Kangaroos classroom. Last summer it was an overgrown jungle and with hard work from Bev and parent and staff volunteers, it is rapidly turning into a wonderful woodland space for our children and a real asset for the school.

Its come a long way but there is still lots to do and we need your help.

So far the hard work has cleared the area and put in some basic groundworks, including some raised beds and pathways, but in order to make this a great space for the children to explore and learn in it needs further development.

The garden will eventually include a willow dome, and hazelnut tunnels as well as a covered area for teaching.

In addition to the money already raised for this project we need approximately an additional £5000 to make this an inspiring space for all the children at Nethergreen Infant School.

How can you help?

Your donation will help pay for the development of the woodland area, the shelter, the willow dome and hazelnut tunnel and to buy garden equipment such as a waterbutt, composters and garden shed. We also need plants and equipment to help the children enjoy the garden for example den building equipment and bug hunting kits.

Whatever you can give, whether it be £5 or £50 or more, thank you for helping us to make this a wonderful space for the children on Nethergreen Infants school.

Thank you!

How else can you help?

There are regular opportunities for parents to help out in the garden guided by Bev, look out for more notices in the newsletter. If you have any other skills that you think might be of use in the development of the woodland area please speak to Mrs Hawkins.

On Friday 15th February there is an opportunity to come and see the progress made so far. Come up to the garden area and share a cup of tea. If you have a spare hour bring your wellingtons and a spade, Bev will be there all day and would love it if people could come and help.

We are hugely appreciative of any donation - big or small. The school cannot finance this project without your help.

We need your cash to transform the wood,

For all our kids, it'll be so good!

A place for them to learn and play,

To connect with nature every day.

The problem is, the costs are dear,

So help us please, donate on here!
