Short Story Competition

Why we need your help

As a charity, we constantly need to find new and innovative ways to raise money for animals in need. By entering our competition, you will be helping us both raise funds and awareness. Thank you.

Short Story Competition Fundraiser - put pen to paper in 2020 to write a maximum 500-word short story. All money raised will go towards helping animals in need.

Top prizes to be won! You could see your story published on our website, win a 1-hour Pony Fun Experience, or Cream Tea for Two in our Tearoom. Closing date 31st March 2020.

Get your creative hat on and celebrate the special bond between animals and humans in just 500 words.

There is no age restriction for entry and the stories will be judged within designated age categories. We are looking for stories illustrating the unique bond between animals and their owners.

Enter by emailing your piece of writing to community@oaktreeanimals.org.uk, post to the address below, or hand your entry to our reception desk. Please ensure you provide your full name, contact phone number and email and an indication of your age, when submitting your entry.

PLEASE NOTE it is £2 per entry, or £10 for a school with unlimited entries. All funds generated will go directly to Oak Tree and help animals in their care.

Oak Tree Animals' Charity, Oak Tree Farm, Wetheral Shields, Carlisle, CA4 8JA.

By entering the 500 Word Competition, you are giving Oak Tree permission to publish your story, along with your name. Entries without the entry fee will not be counted.

** If you entered our 500 word golden ticket competition last year, your entry will automatically be included in this competition.
