PMGY Community Fundraiser

Why we need your help

Calling all PMGY Alumni - Your PMGY Community needs you!

In times like no other, our local teams across the globe require your support more than ever. Without doubt, the Coronavirus pandemic has and continues to hit those most vulnerable the hardest. Communities that have adapted to living through tough times are now forced to live through the toughest of times. With little to no welfare support to turn to, we are asking our PMGY family to dig deep and support our communities where they can.

For years our local teams have prided themselves on giving back to their communities. Across this pandemic, they have lost so much themselves. They have been without a volunteer network and any kind of income stream to rely on. Yet, they have remained selfless and giving in their support and donations to the local people.

With no end to this pandemic imminent, our PMGY family now need a helping hand to sustain this support in their communities. Sustain the employment of fantastic local teams. Sustain the childcare and pre-school projects our teams have continued to run despite no income themselves. Sustain the outreach work our teams have continued to deliver. Sustain the free meals and healthcare they have provided to those in true hardship. You can sustain a special relationship with our local teams and their endeavours and show they have not been forgotten in these difficult times.

So this is where you come in. If you have volunteered with PMGY, you will know the fantastic work our local team do, the amazing causes they support and the fantastic local people they employ. Our PMGY teams have always gone above and beyond for our volunteers. Now is the chance for you to go above and beyond for them and their communities.

We are giving PMGY Alumni a chance to support their PMGY team, local community and project network through these difficult times with our t-shirt fundraiser via our charity, the PMGY Foundation. The t-shirt is available on a “pay what you feel” donation basis and 100% of all the money donated will go directly to the local team of your choice. The donations will allow us to continue our project network to run as much as possible, whilst providing some security, stability and support for all the ground team, their families and those most vulnerable in the community in very uncertain times. Your kind donations will also allow you to leave a further legacy to your impact made with PMGY, whether it be 8 months or 8 years ago.

The recommended charitable donation per t-shirt is 25 GBP. Friends and family are warmly welcomed to purchase a t-shirt should they want to, and this will provide amazing further additional support for our ground team. If you have a t-shirt already, why not use this chance to get an updated version? Or perhaps as a stocking filler for a friend or family member! (Probably too early to be talking Christmas, but you get the point!).

PMGY UK will cover all the costs associated with designing, manufacturing and shipping each t-shirt ordered. For every donation we receive, PMGY will provide a months access to clean drinking water for a child in Malawi. (Please kindly note that donations £10 or less will not receive a t-shirt but we will still provide access to clean drinking water for a child in Malawi).

T-shirt sizes come in S, M and L. We will be taking orders up to the 15th October only – once we have the orders, we will then be dispatching t-shirts across late October.

Your support to the PMGY family is hugely appreciated in advance.

When you make the donation, you can choose which PMGY country team/s and community within that you are wanting your donation to go towards (you can read some of our teams' stories below). That is to say, 100% of your donation will go to the local team close to your heart via the PMGY Foundation Charity. If you wish to support more than one team, you can make more than one donation by clicking through the link again (perhaps adding another t-shirt to your collection!). Indeed, the second question on the form will ask you what size t-shirt you require and what will be the relevant shipping address.

If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the gift aid option under 'Boost Your Donation' so our teams can benefit further from additional financial support.

I hope everyone is doing well at the orphanage, the women's empowerment program and the slum school. I think about all of the children a lot, they must have grown so much and I miss them all. I hope to be back sometime soon. Lots of love and stay safe!
