Prostate Cancer Awareness Campaign
Why we need your help
SAVING LIVES WITH YOUR SUPPORT
Prostate cancer is currently the most common cancer in men and over 45,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. That's 129 men every day!
Our aim is to make local men in the Reading area aware of the signs and symptoms of prostate cancer and to offer a free PSA blood test to men between the ages of 45 and 80 years.
Early detection and treatment vastly improves chances of survival.
Currently Reading Lions Club fund these tests with much valued additional sponsorship from the Rutherford Cancer Centre Thames Valley.
Our next prostate cancer awareness event is scheduled for Saturday 18th September 2021 and we are busy planning the event. Our aim is to reach out and offer another 2,000 free PSA blood tests to men in the community.
Like so many charitable organisations our fundraising capabilities have been curtailed over the last year with the onset of the pandemic. However, cancer has not been in lockdown and it is as important as ever that we continue with our awareness programme.
Any donation you make will help us to continue this valued community service. You will be helping to save lives - thank you.
