These are unprecedented times and Coronavirus is impacting all our lives. Isolated from friends and family, many of us are worried about people who’ve lost their jobs, loved ones we cannot visit and our own mental wellbeing.
Samaritans of Warrington, Halton and St Helens are trying our best to continue to be there every day by providing phone and email support to everyone who needs us. They can talk to us, whenever they like, in their own way, off the record, about whatever's getting to them.
Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus crisis, we've had to cancel forthcoming events, indefinitely postpone our newest intake of trainee listeners from getting started, and around 50% of our 60 branch volunteers are self-isolating, so our helpline is now really feeling the pressure.
We're answering calls constantly - the phones genuinely don't stop ringing and calls could be from people you know, like friends or family in urgent need but unable to talk to anyone in the middle of the night. We are also providing support to health and social care professionals struggling with the demands on them at this current time.
Now, our service is needed more than ever, and we really need your support. Please help us continue our lifesaving work by donating today.
