Help us to continue bringing positive change to young people's lives.

Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre is a charity based in Tower Hamlets, who works with young people from one of the most deprived areas in the country. The Centre uses outdoor activities as a tool for development, supporting young people to grow in confidence, determination and leadership and providing pathways into employment through opportunities to gain valuable qualifications and skills. 

Many young people have told us how participating in the activities of the Centre has been a life changing experience for them, broadening their horizons and helping them to see just what they can achieve.

As with most other organisations at present, for the safety of our users and staff, we have had to close temporarily due to the current Covid-19 situation. This has impacted not only the important work that we undertake with our many users, but also the ability of the Centre to raise funds to support our work.

The Centre has been running virtual Youth Club sessions online during the lockdown, giving the young members an outlet and focus, working on communication and confidence and keeping the community together.

The attached video has been made by the youth club members, all filming their own pieces remotely, and shows their commitment and drive to be a part of something that really does bring positive change to their lives.

We know that this is a difficult and uncertain time for many people, but we would like to ask our community to help us to weather this storm. If you are able to support the Centre with a donation to enable us to continue our work we will be ready and waiting to re-open our doors as soon as we can safely do so. Your donations will go directly towards our valuable work with young people.
