Let's celebrate Sibling's Day!

Why we need your help

What is Sibling's Day?

Siblings Day is a holiday recognized annually in some parts of the United States on April 10, honouring the relationships of siblings. Siblings United has decided to celebrate it on the same date.

Siblings Day is also celebrated in India, Australia, Guyana and South America.

Why celebrating Siblings' Day?

It is estimated that 49.5% of siblings that enter the care system are separated in England.

Siblings United (SU) programme reunites brothers and sisters who are separated by care. The programme advocates and facilitates ongoing contact while they are living apart. The project activities involve reuniting siblings through residential camps and one day events that provide a mixture of adventure activities and aspects of mindfulness.

During Sibling's Day we aim to raise awareness of siblings who are separated in care and adoption and to highlight the bond that exists between siblings.

How can I take part?

Before the 10th April: help us raise funds to offer a bursary to 2 separated siblings to spend a holiday together at camp! Choose your preferred donation amount below and help to reunite siblings!

On the 10th April (Siblings' Day): share a picture from your childhood with your sibling (s) and tag ShaftesburyYoungPeople on Facebook and @ShaftesburySP with #SiblingsDay on twitter

Join our campaign and give a voice to separated brothers and sisters, showing how important is to keep and look after this life long relationship!
