On Sunday, May 26th, Special Olympics will be introducing the first ever Unified Mile for people with and without intellectual disabilities of all ages and fitness levels. As part of its celebrations to mark 50 years of Special Olympics, the global inclusion movement has partnered with London Marathon Events to take part in the Vitality Westminster Mile. Special Olympics is changing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities (ID) every day and you are invited to be a part of this by joining this inclusive mile. Registration to join the run is open to everyone and is free of charge but why stop there?

Why not take the extra mile and fundraise to help Special Olympics Great Britain* get one more athlete onto the playing field?

  • £100 will help to create a sporting opportunity for an athlete with ID
  • £500 will support an athlete with a leadership & media training opportunity
  • £1000 will support a team to prepare for a local competition
  • £5000 will support an athlete to prepare for and compete at an international event

Any donation, no matter how small, will make a HUGE difference to Special Olympics Great Britain and help us create more opportunities, using the power of sport, for athletes living with an intellectual disability.

Walk, jog, run - it's up to you! Join us on May 26th for a fun day in London!

*Special Olympics Great Britan is a charity and the largest provider of a year-round sports programme in Great Britain and supports over thousands of people of all abilities with intellectual (learning) disabilities. Across, England, Scotland and Wales, approximately 27,000 regular sports coaching sessions of at least one hour are delivered locally each year by 140 accredited programmes across 28 different sports.
