From September 2020 a dedicated sports hall and all-weather pitch will bring Gordon’s sportsmen and women into the new century, providing them with an indoor centre in which to practise and play an increased range of sports while improving the facilities for existing ones. It will also give much needed space to accommodate our burgeoning numbers of sportsmen and women. Furthermore, it will enable them to practise and play all year round whatever the weather!

The enhanced facilities will also provide ample space for spectator viewing and will allow the school to take part in more competitive events at all levels. Students and teams will be able to participate in a sporting activity in all weathers. Existing sports will benefit from dedicated pitches and the facilities will enable the introduction of badminton; indoor football; basketball, handball, futsal, indoor cricket and many other sports.

The new sports hall will include:

4 x Badminton Courts

4 x Changing Rooms

First Aid Room

As well as benefiting the students and staff at Gordon’s, the centre and all-weather pitch will be available for hire to local sports groups in the community. There will also be a second 3G all-weather pitch in front of the Sports Pavilion.

While the building of the sports hall and all-weather pitch is covered by the Gordon’s Foundation, funds are needed for the sports equipment and internal fixtures.

Everyone in the Gordon’s community and local area will benefit from these new additions to the school and we welcome donations from all.
